My name is Najma Shah and my journey as a Montessori educator began in 2000. Prior to this, I received a Bachelors in Education, and a Montessori degree from the American Montessori Society. I have over 20 years of experience working in the field of early childhood education, as a teacher, mentor, supervisor, and instructor.
My work with early childhood education has taken me across the globe, and in 2015 I got the opportunity to work as the director of the non-profit Nursery School in Dar-es-Salaam, Tanzania. This experience allowed me to grow as an educator and leader by giving me a stronger sense of multicultural understanding and reinforcing my pluralistic values.
In recent years, I have been volunteering my time by working with a variety of early childhood education centers across the Northeast region and developing curricula for these programs, which deal primarily with the children age birth to six years of age.
I believe that each child is born with a unique talent, and as a facilitator, it is my role to guide and unfold that talent, while fostering an environment filled with peace and compassion.
